Square Toe Shoes & How To Wear Them
It seems as if out of nowhere square toe heels became a thing— but we're not hating.
Bottega Veneta got a new creative director, Daniel Lee, and everyone is talking about it.
Along with a new creative director, Bottega's heels also got a squarer toe and a new mass following. It's just the kind of refresher we were looking for— and these bad boys are selling out faster than the cronut did in 2013.
We were able to find the above pair of stunning sky blue quilted leather square toe Bottega Veneta heels via Shop It To Me, along with many other of the brand's square toed heels. (con't reading)
How to wear Square Toe shoes
This season's biggest shoe trend doesn't require a ton of thought, goes with pretty much everything, and subtly speaks for itself. So if you're the type to last minute throw on a pair of shoes and hope it works, then you're going to appreciate the square toe shoe trend very much.
Bottega Veneta also makes a square-toed leather slide that is appropriate to wear with anything that you have in your closet (and we mean anything). We suggest pairing your new square-toed slides with a basic tank and denim look like the one seen below on TyLynn Nguyen, or wear this slide with something more complicated— this shoe trend can handle any outfit, so bring out your crazy.
Shop It To Me, that designer sale site we mentioned earlier, has a ton of Bottega Veneta shoes from your favorite retailers, all in one easy-to-shop place. It's free to join so def download the app and check it out.
It's too easy to talk about how Bottega flawlessly nailed this trend, so we're going to move along to some other brands that are also unexpectedly crushing this squared toe silhouette.
The Square Toe Pump
Naturalizer, yes that comfortable shoe brand that is known for walking more than anything else, nails it on the design aspect of its newest black leather square toe pump, seen below.
The square toe trend looks great at any heel height, but the block kitten heel just makes things more appealing with this pair.
Wear these to work with a pencil skirt and a sweater, or with a sleek shift dress. Thank you Naturalizer for this beautifully blunt heel. (use your imagination, this looks wayyyy more expensive than it actually is).
Square Toed Boots
Again, a brand that is not expected to turn out a super chic croc-embossed square toe boot, just did. Marc Fisher's slip-on leather bootie is emitting all sorts of luxurious expensive vibes, without the high price-tag, proving that this square-toed silhouette can be affordable.
We are styling this sleek croc-embossed bootie with a mini dress, or with black straight-leg / slightly flared denim, and topped off with a cream colored silk blouse. Very bohemian but sophisticated vibes.
Square Toe Strappy Sandals
Everyone, even fashion week's finest, are loving the square toe trend, especially in the form of a super chic white strappy sandal. This look sported below is perfect for transitioning into Fall, with its sheer turtleneck layered underneath:
The above look is so easy to recreate, btw, and we plan to wear the below Rag & Bone strappy sandals in the Winter with black tights and a super short mini dress— and we can wear them now with denim (yes, even with a casual light jean and plain or graphic tee shirt). We love that they are white but don't scream "Summer only".

The Square Toe Box Reigns Supreme for 2020
It doesn't matter if it's an open toe or a closed toe, the squared off toe trend is a HUGE deal. It makes things more interesting and certainly gives your outfit any depth it was lacking.
One of our favorite celebs ever, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, is obsessed with the square toe shoe trend as you can easily tell from her Instagram. Whether it's a square toed boot, a strappy sandal, or a mule, Rosie HW will rock the heck out of it and that's why we love her— her taste in fashion in unmatched.
You know who else's taste in fashion is unrivaled? OURS, ;P ... plus, we have all the hottest brands and retailers on board to bring you the newest trends around the clock. No one works harder than we do to bring you the best prices/items as they hit the internet. (you're welcome)
