Board Games + Fashion?

Thanksgiving in my house involved board games, as I’m guessing is quite common.  I’m sure the holiday season to come will have us playing many more hours of Scrabble, Apples To Apples, Taboo, Guesstures, Trivial Pursuit, and Monopoly!

When I first read about this “Fashion Rules” game in the LA Times “All The Rage” blog, I thought it quite innovative and unique, and wanted to share it with you.

The game involves questions varying from “What do the initials BCBG stand for? ” to “Who is the greatest fashion photographer?”, and small style-related figurines (shoes, sunglasses, etc) that you ‘collect’ in a shopping bag.  It was created by the Margaret Maldonado Agency – a West Coast agency known for wardrobe/hair stylists, makeup artists, photographers, and up-and-coming designers.  Seems that extensive fashion knowledge is necessary for some of the trivia, whereas for other questions, an awareness of pop culture may suffice.  Perfect for a girl’s night!

At nearly $100, seems that the price ticket is a bit high.  But when you think of it as a collector’s item and endless evenings of entertainment, and hey…even building your knowledge-base, might be a worthy investment (or gift!)
