Jackets are your best friend during the summer -> fall transition. Here's what I'm loving RN
Stripes and plaid should just be classed as neutrals in my book. I think you can mix with any colour and blend with different prints and it just gets better and better.
There is such a great range of choices out there RN, but all these picks are classic, subtle, yet undeniably on-trend.
You can, of course, wear any of the blazers I've picked with denim and it would look perfect. Jeans, a denim mini, whatever you like.
However, I'm really loving the mix and match look and would easily pair stripes or plaid with plaid trousers or skirt. I don't think the matchy-matchy look is as cute and this works better for an off-duty street style version of the smart look. Team with a tee and sneakers and you've nailed it in my eyes.
When it comes to denim jackets, I think now is the perfect time to find your perfect style. For me, perfect means oversized, slouchy, yet cropped. Hudson Jeans have done this really cool distressed one, which I think looks really good and also you can pair this with pretty much everything, but one of my fave looks is still the off-duty, double denim and sneaks look.
This maybe slightly more wintery BUT omg I couldn't not add this to a jackets post. It's denim, but it's a trench coat and it's freakin great.
From MSGM, I think this is such a cool take on the classic. We've seen denim trenches before, but this one is done so well and I love the details. It would actually be really flattering and you could just wear it open, over a jersey midi and sneakers if you want it to remain super casual.
The teddy jacket is halfway between jacket and coat so works in autumn when it's chilly but not cold. It's also super cute. I love this Levi version with lots of detailing and tailoring and would style this really simply with black skinnies, converse, and a cropped T-shirt.
Levi always serves up good bombers so I'm sticking with them here. Often left forgotten, the bomber is actually a perfect jacket for this time of year. They're warm enough but not too heavy, casually cool and you can always find one in any colour you like. From chic and classic black or khaki to a statement varsity style, I would recommend having a couple of these in your wardrobe ready for autumn.
J.Crew!
J.Crew is killing it with blazers right now. At this price, you can get a few to last you the autumn and I'm loving the richness of their palettes. Navy blue is always a classic and I love the wrap around styles they're doing but this rich green jacket particularly stands out to me because of the colour but also I love the double-breasted detailing with no lapels, super-contemporary.
