Ok, so when I'm starting a dress hunt, admittedly, I always tend to start with black. It's safe and chic and I love it and won't feel guilty about it!
These top picks all have a little edgy trait to them that takes away any chance of being called boring or *cough* plain.

This Marchesa gown is diviiiiiine. It's got such a modest and sweet crew neckline and beautifully fitted short sleeves, but the semi-sheer lace accents and touches of metallic embellishment make me squeal.

Serious Drama

From one extreme to the other and why not? If there's a chance where I can dress up fabulously, imma take it. I love how these 3 picks either have a giant skirt or some seriously cool sleeve details that take them to the next level.

I'm picturing this Zac Posen, seriously dramatic, high-low gown with these sky-scrapingly high Giuseppe Zanotti shoes. I might not be able to dance all night, but damn I'd look good.

If I Feel Like Sparkling

I actually wore my first ever head-to-toe sparkling gown for the first time last year and I have to say, I've never felt more glam. It's certainly left me with the craving to do it all again. I particularly love this gold cowl-neck Michael Kors gown.

Clean Lines Giving Me Life

Keeping it simple doesn't have to mean safe. These high necklines and sweepingly figure-hugging lines do a multitude of favours to the womanly shape. I love that they show everything without showing much at all.

Only If It's Not Someone Else's Wedding!

I'm a serious believer in fashion etiquette and not wearing white or cream or ivory or.... (you get it) to some other chicks wedding is one of the biggest rules I've ever come across. However, my event is an evening only shin-dig so there is no colour rules in sight. Therefore, as its edging into summer, I'm kinda feelin' this H2T hot white look.

Gown dressing is so much fun. You can really play up your regular style for one night only and I really love that. I don't know how I'm going to choose between these bad boys and I'm really hoping to receive another invite soon so that I need two!
