Recently, I hopped off a plane and went straight to a Mexican restaurant. Tequila + Champagne are my favorites + obv I'm NOT getting a bellini here, so I ordered a margarita. I got carded and that stuff doesn't flatter me per se, so I was thinking ... was I carded because of my outfit? Do I come off as looking like a baby? Honestly, I'm blessed w. great genes so that's half of it BUT the other half was definitely b/c of my outfit.
I was wearing an IRO linen multi-colored shirt (think tye-dye splatter) it was a $300 tee (and I actually bought it here + snagged it for $65), David Lerner black leggings, and baby blue knitted APL sneakers. Oh, and I had a white fuzzy/teddy jacket thrown over my shoulders (prep school style). I definitely looked "cool" but I also looked young. And I don't care about this experience really SO LET ME GET TO THE POINT ....
If how we dress makes an immediate impact on others, should we be more cautious of it? In my situation it was unimportant. But say in the workplace, not just for an interview .. if you want to be treated a certain way, you should look the part.
Oversized sweaters are kind of like oversized graphic tees. They just look a little more intelligent.
These are my .. Maybe I'm going to the library or maybe I'm not .. sweaters
My new favorite color (purple). The model is inspiring me to wear mine with black leather pants + I approve of her vibe.
I would keep this one tucked OUT. The .. Polite and classy, but I know I still look fierce .. look
The .. I came here to do business .. looks
Don't underestimate me
So let me tell you how I want to be treated ...
My mind changes rapidly from "there's no way I'm going out like this" to "I could really care less what people think about me" in 2.5 seconds, so take this with a grain of salt.
