Trouser & Wide Leg Denim

Consistently chic are the wide leg denim pants. These jeans have a certain level of sophistication to them.

Ironically, this trend is VERY flattering, and will not make you look “wide” at all, if done right. Wide leg trousers almost always make your derrière look amazing (cue the applause), and they hug your thighs seamlessly, unlike skinny denim.

This wide leg trend is best done in white, cream, black, or dark denim colors.

Fit is the key to this trend. These wide leg jeans need to be tighter in the waist, cinching everything in. Luckily, most wide leg options are higher rise, which pulls the outfit together and makes everything look right and tight.

When pondering your look, think elegant. Cropped styles and denim that touches the floor are a yes.

Now for the best part, styling your denim. Because the jeans are a looser fit, your top has to be tight! A cropped sweater is perfect (cropped doesn’t mean exposing your stomach, it just means shorter than the average sweater).

And of course, a plain tailored t-shirt always reigns supreme and looks über stylish. Make sure to tuck in the front part of the tee, this will balance out the wide leg pant.

Shoe time. If your denim is cream colored, a camel suede sandal looks chic. If your wide leg jeans are dark denim or black, wear a suede block heel in any neutral color. Stuart Weitzman does simple sandals the best.

Insider Tip: Say you found an amazing pair of jeans that you absolutely love/looked different on the model, run to a tailor and have them adjust the waist, and if necessary, hem the bottom for a custom crop. You know your body best, make sure that it looks its best!
