Tie-Dye for Fall and Winter 2019

Tie-dye is nothing new, but like everything else in life, what's old is new again. And we're not complaining!

We're actually thrilled that tie-dye has reemerged in such a fashion-forward way. This Spring/Summer we were bombarded with tie-dyed garments from bathing suits to maxi dresses from designers like A.L.C., Alice + Olivia, Raquel Allegra, Tanya Taylor, and the list continues.

Trends come and go, but one thing's for sure, tie-dye is a thing of the present looking forward into the second half of 2019, and surely it'll make its rounds again in 2020.

The Tie-Dyed Jacket

No, your eyes aren't playing tricks on you. This MSGM oversized denim tie-dye jacket is constructed a little backwards, but click on the image and get re-directed to the site and we think you'll be pleasantly surprised at how chic it looks once on.

Our top stylist says that you can wear this multicolored jean jacket with literally anything. Black pants, denim skirt, a LBD, biker shorts, the options are endless.

Something slightly more traditional is this Proenza black tie-dyed denim jacket. Also great to pair with anything in your closet, but if you want to really amp up your look, pair this jean jacket with a tie-dyed denim skirt.

The Tie-Dye Turtleneck

Besides Raquel Allegra, who is known for her signature tie-dye garments, you might already know that Proenza Schouler is also known for its many tie-dyed pieces. Proenza has a thing for turtlenecks, and in our opinion, if you're going to wear a turtleneck you better make it look modern af.

Marques' Almeida is another brand that loves the tie-dye effect, and this super sheer mock turtleneck is so fashion-forward.

We are planning to wear these turtlenecks with rigid denim by brands like Re/Done or GRLFRND, and then we are probably adding pointed pumps.

*bonus stylist tip: Wear either of these turtlenecks under a black pantsuit and you can probably get away with it at work— fingers crossed.

Tie-Dye Leggings

Ok, hear us out. We plan to wear leggings for the rest of our lives. They are not going away anywhere in our wardrobes anytime soon, but we also like to take them to the next level. Mixing sophistication and streetwear edge, we plan to wear our tie-dyed leggings with a plain black oversized sweater and flat combat boots.

And when we say oversized, we mean it. We'd even size up 1 size in this big cozy sweater.

Put your hair in a slicked back pony, light makeup: just a gloss and brows, and don't forget the flat combat boots.

Tie-Dye Accessories

If you're not yet convinced that tie-dye is your thing, would you be willing to try a tie-dyed accessory? Prada hits us with this exclusive black and green tie-dye elektra bag AND matching vernice patent tie-dye mules.

Btw, whoever said mules are just for the Summer was seriously disturbed. We recently wrote a piece on The Best Open Toe Booties and we focus on how to wear them in the Fall and Winter months (because, duh, tights).

And finally, if you're not even into the Prada tie-dye accessories (which how could you not be?), maybe you'll fancy this Acne Studios tie-dye scarf. It's labeled as "tie-dye" but honestly we think this look is more of an ombre effect.

Whatever you want to call it, this Acne Studios scarf is most definitely Fall/Winter 2019 approved.

And wait, if you live in a warmer climate but sometimes DO need a little something to take the chill off, please choose this sherbert-esque version:
