3 Military-inspired Looks from BlueBee.com!

Cristi Silva, a 30-something Santa Barbara mom and customer service guru/order packer at BlueBee.com, is here to share three ways to embrace this season’s Military Trend. She has the great fortune of encountering rad reps, coolly dressed chicks and dudes, fashion mavens, and designers on a daily basis. The military/surplus trend is an essential part of your fall 2010 wardrobe.  At Blue Bee, we see military style from just about every line we carry. Here is how to make this trend work in your wardrobe.

LOOK 1 – If you are an extreme fashionista, you’d likely love super-rad brands such as Robin’s Jeans for cargos. They have detailed embellishments on their back pockets that symbolize military badges, zippers, and camo denim fabric. Incorporate another important trend for Fall 2010, such as a leather jacket, asymmetrical top, and an amazing pair of military-inspired boots.

LOOK 2 – Not the Hipster Street style type? Stay true to a softer side of surplus with our long time favorite: Da-Nang. They own Indonesian surplus style with their eclectic washable silk cargo pants, shorts and beautiful Surplus Jackets. Take one piece such as their classic cargo jacket and wear it with a fun and feminine top, a pair of grey skinny jeans jeans (such as these amazing Sinclair Rowan jeans in Moscow,) and sexy heels.

LOOK 3 – Military style can also be sleek, sexy, sophisticated and emulate the style of a simple, modern woman with an edge. Start with a highly tailored uniform jacket such as this gorgeous Improved blazer with zipper detail, and layer over a fitted shirt that is simple with a hit of masculinity. The key piece to this ensemble is the pants or jeans. Rich & Skinny’s cargo legging in Slick Black are one of the most talked about cargo pant right now. This jean will rock your fall wardrobe.

These are just a few ideas of how we see the military trend for our customers on BlueBee.com.  Try one of these looks, or create one of your own by mixing and matching! You know that military will always be in style!
